Legal Aid

The HIV/AIDS Legal Project (the Project) assists low-income clients living in Kentucky obtain and maintain stable, affordable, and habitable housing by offering a range of free legal services.

The Project is the only one of its kind in Kentucky providing free comprehensive legal services to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

Services include legal assistance in the following areas: housing, health care, disability benefits, employment, income maintenance, consumer debts, taxes, and life planning.

As a part of LAS since 1992, the Project and the services that it provides are an essential part of the continuum of care our community offers those affected by HIV/AIDS.

The Project receives cases by referral from other HIV service providers such as the Kentucky Care Coordinator Program (KCCP) and the House of Ruth. Case managers at these programs provide clients with information about contacting the Project or contact the program staff directly.

Clients of these agencies sign agreements allowing release of information to the Project.
